What you can expect from your personal English tutor? What does an English tutor expect from you?
Answer. We offer English tutors or private English tutors who are skilled in their areas of expertise. They need to undertake termly training and our management members keep track of and monitor our tutors to help them achieve targets and deadlines with children.
Our management members will then adapt to a child’s learning style to optimize their progress on a regular basis.
Adding to the direct English tuition each child will be focused on and guided by a mentor. They offer guidance to the child, mainly for the child’s chosen academic path including study options but also try to incorporate other academic skills into a child’s learning habits. t
Deadlines are given and the child is expected to meet them. A child is also expected to attend all lessons and complete their homework whenever it is given. A child should always try to communicate their difficulties to their mentor. If all these expectations are met, success is inevitable.

Do you offer AQA, Edexcel, WJEC, OCR, and Cambridge GCSE English tuition revision classes?
Answer. Yes. We do offer GCSE English tuition revision classes for AQA, Edexcel, WJEC, OCR, and Cambridge.
For ages 1 to 19, we offer Key Stage, A level, and GCSE in-building and online English easter revision classes (as well as for Maths and Science) for the students at an additional cost (and is ocassional for non Cherry Hill students). In these classes, additional past mock papers are covered along with teaching.
This revision class service is suggested for students who join us late. We are a government official exam centre for AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC, and Cambridge and hence we cover all exam boards.

Can you help my child with his/her English homework?
Answer. Yes, definitely. We help our pupils with their English subject homework. In case of the school homework, the child will have to report to their mentor at Cherry Hill.
Most of our pupils move ahead of their school curriculum after two years and it has been observed that they rarely need any help with their school homework.

What is the impact of Covid 19 on students and their studies? Tell us about the strategies you used to engage your pupils?
Answer. The impact of Covid-19 on students was worrisome. Only management that was organised enough could sustain the academic progress of children during such unfortunate times. We were amongst the first tuition centres to enter the online English tuition area and remain amongst the best performing market leaders for online English tuition (as well as for Maths and Science tuition).
At the beginning of Covid-19, all eligible in-building students simply moved to our online tutoring platforms. Most of our English online tutors are full time and aggressively trained and experienced, so our children transitioned effortlessly. The education on our online systems is so strong, that we took on many students during the day to support non-attendance at local schools, during Covid lockdowns. Our children are provided connected workspaces during online teaching, that include digital whiteboards, collaborative text editing, and other technology to aim to match the in-building experience.

Can you give me more information about the English tuition at Cherry Hill Tuition?
Answer. The English tuition we offer is extremely organized. We follow and cover the national curriculum and put more initial emphasis on clearing the fundamentals of the specific subject for our pupils.
We cover Maths and English subjects for ages 5 and more (i.e., Year 1 and up). We start teaching Science for students of age 11 and up (i.e., Year 7 and up). For A Level preparation during year 12 and year 13, we provide Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Maths tuition.

Do you provide English revision classes?
Answer. Yes. We provide English revision classes (and also science and Maths revision classes).
We firmly believe that revision is important in the case of English for our pupils who are about to sit their English exams. Revising the syllabus multiple times has proven to change grades.

How do you engage your pupils in English exam revision?
Answer. Revision is important and a key factor in the studying process once the exam specification/syllabus is completed and understood. Revision means to bring back or “Refresh / Revisit” the information that has been previously learnt to get a better grasp over the concept and memorize the key details.
The moment our pupils are prepared and ready our revision process is started which includes solving past exam papers and mock papers that we ourselves prepare each year.
Our pupils are constantly reminded of what they have learnt and are encouraged to apply it. To train our students how to manage their time we use timers to encourage our students to work under pressure. Other important elements such as scheduling are also taught. All these skills are revision elements and increase performance in the exam.

Do you offer home tuition for GCSE English and A Level English?
Answer. We offer online tuition for English (and also for Science and Maths) which is high in demand and is recommended. Home English tuition can also be an option but we avoid it unless the applicant carries a disability.
We observed that the productivity of pupils in case of home tuition was less compared to our pupils from in-building classes, which is why we stopped doing it formally.
Our home tutors for English (or any other subject) and the pupils they teach at home are at a disadvantage being away from the support, resources, and management available at our centres.

Is face-to-face in-building English tuition better than online English tuition?
Answer. According to what we have observed, both the systems are equally good and have only a slight difference between them. We believe that the online English tuition (as well as) needs more work outside the lessons to match the experience of the in-building sessions. We suggest you commute to one of our centres first.
We provide our education to a lot of students around the world and many of them choose online education because they do not have an option to travel to our centres.
Moreover, the online education system has always proven to be of help to our in-building pupils especially when they are traveling or at some unfortunate time such as the Covid-19 lockdown.

Is it worth getting a tutor to help my child with his/her A Level English Exam?
Answer. It will always benefit a child if he/she gets the correct extra help from the technical sources available.

What English books do we need to buy for English tuition to attend Cherry Hill Tuition?

We will recommend to our pupils which story and literature books they should refer to if their school does not provide one.

What is the assessment for? Why is it necessary for my child to sit the assessment for English tuition at Cherry Hill Tuition?
Answer. The assessment taken by the child before entering Cherry Hill will determine the suitability of your child to get a place at Cherry Hill Tuition for English Tuition.
Whether it be for English, Maths or Science all pupils need to sit for the assessment after applying for the tuition. The English tuition that we offer is not suitable for everyone since it is regimental and we need some time to make improvements. The assessment lists out the pupils’ strengths and weaknesses.

I am looking for an 11+ Verbal Reasoning and English tuition? How does it work?
Answer. Since Key Stages are the time when a student’s foundations for English and Maths are formed, most of our pupils who sit for the 11+ exam start their preparation from year 2.
In the beginning, most of our pupils are not set to sit for the 11+ exams. But eventually, their standards become so high that it becomes straightforward and easy for them to sit for the 11+ for grammar and private school, both.
The 11+ pupils should begin preparation for Maths and non-verbal reasoning and English and verbal reasoning in Year 5.
You need to select “11+” and either Maths or English on the exam form when you apply for the 11+ exam. The education system at Cherry Hill Tuition for 11+ exams is rigorous. We see a growing number of students applying for a grammar school entry. This makes the standards higher and higher each year.
A lot of our pupils are studying at grammar school and as we have observed that the quality of education of a grammar school is similar to that of a good and reputed state school. The entrance exam is pressurizing for a lot of pupils and we do not support it. Although our passing rate is high, we usually tend to recommend it selectively.

Answer. Most of the students that attend Cherry Hill Tuition for English tuition are recommended by family, friends, and even school teachers. What are your results like for 11+, GCSEs, and A Levels for English subject?
Answer. In the case of the GCSE and A Level English our results are incredibly strong. We have not yet found any other tuition source that has matched our results. Whenever a pupil applies to us but is not taken on, we offer to look for somewhere reliable to send until a place becomes available.

Our 11+ results are high and impressive. We offer places to 15 students for 11+ per year.
In the recent year, 11 pupils got into their first choice grammar or independent school. Although 2 of the strong pupils did not get in. This reflects that there is no guarantee that this static will work for you. We are critical when advising parents about 11+ since the process is complex due to a huge number of people applying for grammar school.
